Design Out Youth Knife Crime
More than 60,000 children were arrested in 2019 for over 14,000 knife crime offences in the UK.
Solution:
A wood workshop which is designed for olders to teach youngers in prison. Bringing olders and Youngers together in order to combine thinking and making. This will form a positive relationship between the hierarchy and a chance for one to one support for them both.
Plus a series of typographic posters which will be put up around the prison to advertise and tell the story of how the workshop works.
Campaign poster which will be put up in prisons to inform the Elders and Youngers about the workshop.
Handcrafted knife made from pine wood. The design combines a human body within the blade of the knife - Do not let the knife become you.
